We started a new tradition this past Thanksgiving and it went better than I expected! My son is almost 4 years old. Last Christmas I tried to have him help me collect some of his toys and donate them to children in need. It didn't go very well and let's just say all the toys I had in the give bag ended up back in his toy bin.

This year was a lot different. I've been really working on trying to teach my son just how blessed we are and not everyone has as many toys or games as he does. This year we started a New tradition on Thanksgiving Day called "Thanks for Giving". We went around his toy room and collected toys he didn't want or need.
He had a great system for this. If he loved something and wanted to keep it he would hug it and put it back in his big blue toy bin. If he didn't play with it as much or didn't "love it" he would throw it in the give pile! We ended with a nice size trash bag to give. My son seemed to really enjoy this and while doing

it I kept telling him how kind he was being by donating toys to those in need.
We will definitely be continuing this tradition every year on Thanksgiving.
