The recent pandemic has changed a lot about how we go about our day to day activities. This
has also greatly impacted how we vacation. As a travel agent who has many clients with plans to escape to Florida over the next several months, I thought it was important to share some do’s and don’ts to wearing a mask in the humid Florida heat from a firsthand experience from visiting Disney Springs and being at Universal Orlando during their park opening weekend!
DO understand that all popular vacation destinations will require the use of a mask. No mask means no entry.
DO give your mask a test run before your trip! Ensure that it is comfortable and fits your face well. You do not want to be pulling on it all day long.

DO pack several masks. Between the sweating, vapor from your breathing, and random rain showers, you will want and sometimes need to have another mask on hand to use. There is nothing more uncomfortable than a damp mask on your face in the heat while you are breathing.
DO consider a mask with ties versus ear loops. After personal experience, seeing other masks, and talking to others about their preferences, the ties seem to come out on top. You can loosen the lower ties around your neck allowing the mask to stay secure but hang away from your face loosely allowing air flow. I promise you will not regret investing in a mask with ties!
DON’T forget your mask. You will not be permitted into most areas without it.
DON’T skip out on the water. STAY HYDRATED! In the hot sun the mask only makes you that much hotter. Be sure you are taking care of yourself by staying hydrated. And be sure to take some deep breaths of fresh air when that mask is pulled down when you are sipping!
DON’T forget that social distancing while wearing your mask is still important and required to

ensure the safety and health of you and others.
DON’T let your mask ruin your day! It may feel odd or uncomfortable, but you are on vacation so try to make the most out of the situation and HAVE FUN!!!
I hope this list of Do’s and Don’ts for wearing a mask on your next vacation to Florida (or any other hot and humid destination for that matter) helps you to make the most of your trip and enjoy your time in the sunshine state!
