We moved into our home in April of 2019 and were thrilled to finally have an outdoor entertaining space. I dreamed of an amazing set up where we could watch movies outdoors in the summer with drinks in hand. About a year and a half later I finally bit the bullet and purchased a projector.
One thing to note is that there are a TON of projectors out there. If you aren't tech savvy (ummmm... me) it may be hard to figure out which would be best for your needs. I read a ton of reviews and slept on the decision for a few days and then luckily this one, which was one of two I had sitting in my Amazon cart, went on sale and had a clickable coupon. SCORE!! I purchased the Mini Projector - 3600L Hompow Smartphone Portable Video Projector.
The box itself is sturdy with a nice handle and you can easily slide out the foam storage container. Typically I toss the box, but this box in particular is great for keeping the cords, remote, and projector together and protected in between uses since we use our outdoors and have to bring it inside.
It has great compatibility including TV Stick/HDMI/VGA/USB/TV Box/Laptop/DVD/PS4. We use ours with our FireStick mostly and it works great. There are other options out there that work with bluetooth, but it simply wasn't something we felt we needed in our projector. An HDMI cord is not included, but is the best option for connecting devices. If you need to add a lift to the front of the projector, there is a small stand that screws underside the front of the projector.
As for the picture, it has a 176" display and is very clear! We project ours on a sheet that is stretched over some pvc pipes (a DIY project I did and will share at a later date to link here). You can zoom and tilt the image up and down using the black knobs on top of the projector. It is small and easy to store which is a huge plus for us as well.
We love our movie nights which occur almost every Friday night on our deck. Our neighbors come over and we blow up the air mattresses for the kids to lounge on and get the popcorn buckets ready. The projector has already paid for itself in the short time we have owned it, and it has allowed us as a family to truly enjoy our time together. We all, parents and kids, look forward to our movie nights!
Conclusion, I would highly recommend this projector if you are in the market for one. You can't be the value and capabilities it has for a small projector and it is sure to become a hit with your friends and family on movie night! It has my 5-star stamp!
